Paul Robinson - Managing Director

By now it will be obvious to you that my name is Paul Robinson and I am Managing Director of Athena Management Solutions Ltd, who own and develop this site and through it provide expert business support services for SME clients (Small and Medium sized enterprises).

I live and work in the town of Uppingham in England’s smallest county of Rutland. I am fortunate to have been happily married to Lorna for nearly 24 years and we have two sons and a daughter...all of whom we both cherish and are very proud of.

The boring stuff (for me anyway) - My background

I wanted to work with lots of people within a business environment and on graduation gained the opportunity to work as a Process Improvement Engineer. So I know a thing or two about modern management techniques such as Lean, Six Sigma and World Class operations!

I moved from making confectionery to producing speciality chemicals – believe it or not, they do have more in common than you may think. During this time I project managed the complete rebuild of a £40m turnover site, introducing fully automated batch production. My Health, Safety and Environmental knowledge was also developed pretty quickly as well.

As I pursued my corporate career, I finally ended up working in the printing industry in a number of different senior executive commercial and operational roles (extending from Managing Director to VP European Operations).

My expertise has particularly developed around strategic business development.

I have successfully carried out a number of challenging business transformation exercises, generating step improvements in operational and particularly commercial activity. Working in highly competitive sectors across Europe, I enjoyed facing up to the challenge of changing traditional business attitudes and delivering a more customer centric service.

Having worked for some of the most successful companies in the world, it would be surprising if I didn't pick up a thing or two. In fact I have been fortunate that over my career, I have gathered, learned and implemented all the top, leading edge tools that are guaranteed to deliver businesses success.

The Company

We work with all manner of organisations from Medium sized, 250 employee companies through to Start Up's. Each new client generates a "buzz" of anticipation and excitement for us. We are passionate about wanting you to succeed and our focus remains firmly fixed on that aim.

We keep ourselves deliberately small, so that the service remains personal and the costs and worry of covering large overheads does not feature.

All my colleagues in the business are Associates, with a similar depth of background and experience to mine. We specifically employ these skills to fit the client's needs.

So what’s the goal?

Experience has shown us that there are a tremendous amount of entrepreneurs who want to build or grow a business. The problem is that many of them don’t know how to get started or are frustrated because they are stuck in second or third gear.
